HARDWARE AND TECHNOLOGY

Server
The server is a Pentium III 1.0 GHz with 1Gb RAM ECC, all hardware components are brand names. Operating System Red Hat Linux, with webserver Apache, mySQL, PHP, Perl and more, frequently updated with the latest security patches and working at only 10% of its capacity. Server availability: 99.98 % (avarage since 04/2003 including the kernel updates)

Environment
At the moment server is located in the state-of-the-art Ne twork Operation Center of NAC, located in Parsippany, New Jersey, USA. The NOC is climate controlled and features raised flooring, fire suppression system, diesel generators, and UPS power supplies to prevent or overcome any downtime. It is staffed and monitored 24/7 by trained and qualified system and networ k engineers who are able to work immediately on any problems that may occur in the data center.

Connectivity
Key characteristic of our NOC is Structural Diversity. When it began in 1995 there was a single connection to the Internet via one backbone provider. As it grew, instead of buying larger access to a single provider, it started to inter-connect (see network map) with many other backbone providers, and other Internet Service Providers as well. In fact, with a recent service extension to London, it became international backbone provider itself. We have found both the reliability and speed of the system impressive.
